Aurora Viewer

Aurora Viewer is an NGI Atlantic–funded research project that advances the Open Spatial Computing Platform (OSCP) toward multi-testbed deployment, including a deployment on the COSMOS 5G testbed. It delivers a Unity reference client plus key OSCP improvements (e.g., image capture, authentication, and content creation) to support creating and viewing persistent, location-anchored AR content.

Why it matters: It's a practical open-source reference implementation (plus tutorials/best practices) that helps the ecosystem validate and replicate interoperable AR Cloud workflows across real infrastructure.

OSCAR4US

OSCAR4US ("Open Source Scalable and Continuous Augmented Reality Services for Urban Spaces") is an NGI Search–funded project to push OSCP toward city-scale location-based AR. It targets web-like universality—so anyone can discover, publish, and access content tied to physical places—via three workstreams: OpenVPS (open visual positioning + mapping tools), spatial discovery (continuous, context-aware search for services/content), and a Reality Modeling Language (standardized, machine-readable environment descriptions).

Why it matters: It produces open building blocks that make large-scale urban AR more interoperable, discoverable, and reusable across apps and providers.

GeoPose

GeoPose standardizes how to represent and exchange an object's position and orientation (6DoF pose) relative to geographic (Earth-anchored) reference frames in a machine-readable way.

Why it matters: It's a foundational interoperability layer—so different platforms can consistently align digital content to the real world (supporting AR and other domains that need shared spatial reference frames).
